Other work that is fairly close to being submitted for publication
  • The $\alpha$ Algorithm in Denoising Images, to be submitted to IEEE Transactions on Image Processing or another imaging science journal. With Guy Gilboa.

  • Accurate Intensity-restoring Total Variation Regularization, to be submitted to IEEE Transactions on Image Processing or another imaging science journal. With Tony Chan.

  • Image Decomposition and Texture Recognition using AIRTV Regularization , to be submitted to IEEE Transactions on Image Processing or another imaging science journal. With Stan Osher and Jean-Francois Aujol.

  • Scale-selective Image Resolution using Adaptive Total Variation Regularization, to be submitted to SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics. With Tony Chan. Here is an interesting animation of a simple one-dimensional diffusion which is the result of applying an adaptive total variation regularization scheme that is described in this paper.

  • Implicit vs. Explicit Time-marching in Total Variation Minimizing Anisotropic Diffusion, to be submitted to either SIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis or SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics. Here is a brief (rough version of a) description of the project.
Research supervision
  • I supervised two Pepperdine undergraduates in a project. They presented their results at the 2005 Joint Meetings in Atlanta. We may refine this work and submit it to an undergraduate research journal.
